Protests intensified in Salt Lake on Wednesday as School Service Commission (SSC) job aspirants launched the "Acharya Bhavan Abhiyan" demanding appointments and transparency in recruitment. The demonstrators gathered under Karunamoyee Metro Station in the morning and marched towards the SSC headquarters at Acharya Bhavan, calling for immediate action.
The protestors raised three primary demands — appointment of 3,394 qualified candidates in schools, public release of 22 lakh OMR answer sheets on the SSC portal, and publication of verified lists for 1,255 Group C and 2,139 Group D eligible candidates. They stated that these lists have not been officially released despite eligibility.
Protesters said that if their demands are not met, they will begin an indefinite sit-in outside Acharya Bhavan. They asserted that recruitment must be completed for all eligible candidates and that transparency through document disclosure is essential for accountability.
